What is Toyota 100 Cars for Good?
Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program is a Facebook-enabled philanthropy initiative whereby Toyota will give away up to 100 cars in 50 days to 100 eligible nonprofit organizations. For additional information on eligibility, refer to the Participation Terms (available as of July 22, 2013).
Why is Toyota giving cars to nonprofit organizations?
Toyota believes that motor vehicles, and the mobility they provide, contribute to the betterment of society. They can be particularly important in enhancing the good works of nonprofit organizations in local communities, fulfilling their transportation needs to help extend the reach and efficiency of their good works.
How will winners be determined?
First, eligible organizations must submit an application for consideration to be one of 250 finalist organizations. The 250 finalist organizations will compete over a 50-day period to determine 2 daily car winners. Each day, 5 finalist organizations will compete for popular votes via a dedicated Facebook application. The 2 organizations receiving the most eligible votes at the end of the daily voting period will be offered their organization’s choice of 1 of 5 available Toyota vehicles. The 3 runners-up will receive a $1000 grant for their organization. How and when do organizations apply to participate?
Organizations can submit an application on the Toyota 100 Cars for Good Facebook page. Applications will be accepted beginning July 22, 2013, at 9:00 am PT and will remain open until August 5, 2013, at noon PT or until 2500 applications have been received, whichever comes first.
How will the 250 finalists be selected?
Finalists will be selected by panel of project representatives based on their experience in the areas of philanthropy and corporate social responsibility.
What criteria will the panel use in selecting the 250 finalists?
Consideration will be given to the applicants' need, potential impact of vehicle use, as well as an attempt to have organizations that represent the geographic diversity, diversity of populations served, and diversity of organizations' missions.
Can the general public nominate a nonprofit for participation?
The general public cannot directly nominate a nonprofit for consideration. However, they can alert their nonprofit about the program, and the organization can submit an application on the Toyota Facebook page.
When will the winners receive their vehicles?
Winners will receive their vehicle within 150 days of completion of the prize acceptance form.
What will winners have to do to take delivery of the vehicle?
Vehicle winners must pay for vehicle registration and provide proof of insurance before vehicle delivery. Winners may also be asked to participate in a vehicle delivery ceremony at a Toyota dealer in their local area.
Can winners add options and accessories to their vehicles prior to taking delivery?
No. In order to facilitate the vehicle ordering process, award vehicles will be of a predetermined color, spec and content level.
What if I don't have a Facebook account?
In order to submit an application on behalf of your organization or to vote for an organization, you will need to have a Facebook account. In addition, each participating organization is required to have a Facebook page. Registration for either a personal or organization Facebook is free and can be obtained by visiting www.facebook.com and following the on-screen directions.
What happens after I'm a finalist?
If selected as 1 of 250 finalists, you will be notified on or about August 19 at the primary contact email address included on the application. Upon return of the necessary releases, you will receive additional details about your voting date and how to complete your organization’s profile for the voting period. You will also receive a marketing “toolkit” with approved materials to help you spread the word about your participation in the program along with helpful tips to activate the voting public.
What if somebody else started a profile for my organization?
If somebody in your organization has already started an account, you can log in to the application using the organization’s main phone number and their password. Please do not share your password with anybody outside of your organization.

If your organization's profile is already in use and you don't know who is using it, please email help@carsforgood.com, and we'll try to get your issue resolved as soon as possible.
Can I vote on weekends and holidays?
Absolutely. The voting period will run for 50 consecutive days, including weekends and holidays. The voting rules and voting calendar will be provided on the Facebook App no later than October 1, 2013.
Can I vote more than once a day?
Users are allowed to cast two (2) votes, once per day.
If my organization won last year, is it eligible to enter again?
If your organization won previously, it will not be eligible to participate until three years following the year in which it won. For additional information on eligibility, refer to the Participation Terms.
How will I know if I'm a finalist?
We will notify all finalists via email on or around August 19.
Are nonprofits outside the U.S. eligible?
Only bona fide non-profit organizations headquartered in the US or DC that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or as a nonprofit Native American or Alaskan tribes with sovereignty are eligible. Certain exceptions apply; refer to the Participation Terms for full eligibility criteria.
Do I have to pay taxes on the car?
Please consult with your tax advisor to determine any applicable tax implications in your state.
What Toyota vehicles are included in this program?
The following Toyota vehicles are included in this program:
  • Highlander
  • Prius
  • Tundra
  • Sienna
  • Sienna Mobility (equipped for wheelchair access)
These vehicles were chosen based on Toyota’s experience with nonprofits requests for vehicle donations. For additional information, refer to the Participation Terms (available as of July 22, 2013).
Can I pick the color of my new car?
All vehicle specs, options and colors will be determined by Toyota.
Will Toyota provide insurance?
Toyota will not provide insurance for vehicles won during 100 Cars for Good.
Is the car given to the organization or an individual?
The organization will be awarded the prize; prizes are not intended for personal use.
Do I have to be 18 and over to submit an application?
The representative of the nonprofit organization must be at least 18 years of age and the age of majority to submit an application and participate in the program. See the Participation Terms for complete eligibility restrictions. (available as of July 22, 2013).
Can my organization auction off the car to raise money for our organization?
Vehicles awarded through the 100 Cars for Good program are intended to be in-service vehicles, helping nonprofit organizations expand the reach and improve the efficiency of their good works. The vehicles are not intended for resale or raffle.
